So it'ts official now: Sexy Zone
scored their second # 1 single in a row with "Lady Diamond". In detail the first week sales were :
69,163 + 18,978 + 9,160 + 5,152 + 6,212 + 6,328 + 1,810 = 116,803
With this they finished with a 24,936 distance to the second placed Perfume
single "Spring of Life" (91,867 singles sold).
The first single "Sexy Zone" sold 172,925 copies in the first week, so it may look like a letdown at first. But I don't think it is at all. There were five editions of "Sexy Zone", but *only* three for "Lady Diamond", the promotion machinery was much
lighter armored than for the debut single and there weren't any hand-shake events or something like that.
Also they achieved Gold status for "Lady Diamond" after just four days. That's not a taken-for-grantedness in a time were the sales of physical sound carriers are declining in a remarkable way, not even for a JE-unit ( ask NYC
Keeping that in mind and also considering the fact that Sexy Zone are still very new to most people and haven't got a solid fan-base yet they did great, I think. Not only "Lady Diamond" got golden, the future of Sexy Zone looks golden to me, too.
Well done, boys!
