On a storytellers night

Some "Super Delicate" things..

I didn't felt like posting the last few days for personal reasons, so this post may be somewhat outdated but whatever...

Hey!Say!JUMPs "Super Delicate" is out now for one week and as I wrote before I like the song a lot!  Despite of that it did really well on the charts (Normally the more I like a HSJ song the less it sells... For instance "Arigato ~ Seikai no Doko ni Itemo~” is still my favourte HSJ single and it was the one that was the least successful ever). But as much as I liked the song, as much I was disappointed of the PV. Except for Nakajima Yutos performance and his extraordinary outfit (the boot/shinguard combi). It was just...boring. I like PVs that tell a story much, much more. JE PVs doesn't fullfil this wish most of the time , but sometimes they do (in case of HSJ: "Mayonaka no Shadow boy" and partially "Hitomi no screen"). Not this time. But this gives me the opportunity to present the following ones to you. They are perfect examples of PVs I really like...so here they are:

Mayday - Starry Night

This isn't brand new, the song was released in late 2011. Just in case you don't know them: Mayday is a band from Taiwan wich is labeled as an "alternative rock" band. I don't really agree to this label, they are just a band that do really good guitar driven rock-pop songs, sometimes very catchy ones ("OAOA"), sometimes tricky and even proggy ones ("Noah's Arch"). This one is an ordinary but good ballad song. Nothing extraordinary at the first listen. But the PV really makes it special. "Starry night" was the closing song of the wonderful movie "Starry Starry night", so it would have been easy to do a PV with scenes from the movie. Mayday didn't do that but took main actor Lin Hui-Min/Eric Lin/林晖闵 (Maybe you remember him from my "Summary 2011" post) and did something what could be described as a short movie. Using the visual trademarks of the original movie they created a wonderful supplement to "Starry Starry Night" but with a new story, wich has ties to the movie but stands on its own.
Give it at a look!

Yellow Fried Chickenz - Mata Koko de Aimasho

Highly emotional PV of the Gackt-fronted band Yellow Fried Chickenz. "Mata Koko de Aimasho" (Let's meet here again) . Great song, great video. This song won't be released as a single but will be featured on the Yellow Fried Chickenz Album "One", wich will be released on 03/14.
Wets my eyes (but I'm a whimp, so that doesn't mean anything)!
Show your heart..

Whatever it is that's been on your mind lately sure seems to be keeping you up or waking very early. Isn't it like 5am where you are right now? XD I guess we all have times when we don't feel too great for whatever reason but they always seems less severe as time passes.

More than Arigatou doing badly, I'm more angry that magic power did so well lol

I'll check out these pv's once I can download again. Both the boys look adorable. I was tempted to watch Starry starry night from your summary post, but if I really like the PV, i might just have to hunt down and watch the movie. I remember seeing on another blog a review on a Chinese/Taiwanese film that's kinda similar but it had some animation and fantasy I think.

In fact, I wasn't up early but still awake..Thanks God it was Sunday^^
"Starry Starry night" has some (great) animation and fantasy sequences (in contrast to the PV) but it was more for illustrative reasons.

*finally watches PV*

That's it, I'm watching Starry Starry Night lol

Mayday actually came and performed in New Zealand about 2 years ago. I remember my friend mentioning going to their concert. I had no idea who they were at the time. I think she said something about them coming again this year to perform. I might go with her this time (if the tickets are reasonably priced).

Like you, I really like PVs with a story to tell. And you're right, JE PVs rarely do these kind of videos. Sometimes, I watch Korean and Taiwanese music videos because they have a story to tell.
Well, thanks for sharing these videos. 'Starry starry night' looks good :)

Glad you liked the PV. "Mata Koko de Aimasho" touched me because I think too that remembering your friends is very important, even or especiall when they are gone.
